John took super good care of me with my purchase. He made sure I was completely satisfied. Kudos to him for going the extra mile. Really appreciate it. As far as the lights go, they are quite bright and powerful. I haven't tested them in a real world situation, but my initial thoughts are that they are powerful and will require an additional diffuser. It has a diffuser as part of the light, already attached. It does a good job, but these things are bright. In an interview situation I am certain I will use a 5X1 diffuser in front of it to smooth it out some more. Unfortunately, they don't go down to zero on the power, but somewhere probably around 20%. In most cases that would be fine, but in a tight room for an interview, definitely get a pop up diffuser for a few bucks (like on of those $50 jobs from B&H). It will be just fine with that (or even some diff paper attached to the barn doors will do the trick).
powerful and well-built light for the price. it's a very healthy option compared to the more expensive brand names
I love using the 180. Color is spot on. Quality of light on the subject is amazing. My only complaint is that it doesn't dim to zero, but with a little ND gel, fixed. You won't find a better light for the price.
Comes with a really nice case too.
I just bought two more.
